Current Position
Lisa Neigut, also known as niftynei, founded Base58. The school’s Texas base supports the United States professional-market classification; this is not a statement of private residence or nationality.
Background & Biography
Her background includes Core Lightning development at Blockstream. Base58’s biography describes a sabbatical from that work, so this profile does not label her an active Blockstream employee. Her current educational work includes curriculum development and teaching.
Notable Contributions
Base58 teaches developers about Bitcoin transactions, scripts, nodes and consensus. Neigut’s role connects practical engineering experience with instruction for people seeking to understand or contribute to open-source systems. These are descriptions of educational scope, not independent measurements of student outcomes.
Why Katharos.ai Is Following Them
Katharos.ai follows the people who make technical knowledge more accessible without reducing it to product promotion. Developer education raises questions that are different from token prices: who can inspect the software, reproduce a result and explain the assumptions behind a payment? Neigut’s teaching work provides a useful focus for those questions.
Areas to Follow
Follow the publication of teaching materials, the accessibility of technical courses and evidence that learners can independently test what they are taught. Distinguish attendance figures from demonstrated engineering skills. Changes in curriculum and instructor responsibilities should be checked against dated announcements rather than inferred from older biographies.
Reporting Scope
Coverage concerns public professional work and education. It does not endorse a course, certify a learner or imply authority over an open-source network. Historical development work is not a claim of present employment, and organising or teaching does not confer control over Bitcoin. The cited institutional description should be distinguished from independent evaluation.
