Bitcoin Tops Weekly NFT Sales as Three Transactions Distort a 66% Market Surge

Global NFT sales surged 66.58% to approximately $76.56 million over the seven days ending October 24, with Bitcoin unexpectedly overtaking Ethereum to become the largest blockchain by reported NFT sales. Bitcoin generated approximately $31.07 million, up 268.06% from the previous seven-day period, while Ethereum followed with $24.64 million and Polygon ranked third with $8.53 million. On the surface, those numbers suggest a sharp revival in NFT activity, but a closer examination shows that Bitcoin’s lead was overwhelmingly driven by a tiny number of unusually large transactions.

Ripple Wins Final U.S. Trust Bank Approval as RLUSD Moves Deeper Into Federally Supervised Finance

Ripple has received final approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to establish Ripple National Trust Bank, completing a federal charter process that began with its application in July 2025 and conditional approval five months later. The new federally supervised trust bank will manage segregated reserves supporting Ripple USD, act as collateral trustee for the benefit of RLUSD holders and provide fiduciary custody services for digital assets. The approval represents a significant expansion of Ripple’s regulated U.S. infrastructure, but it does not convert Ripple into a conventional full-service commercial bank authorized to take ordinary deposits or make commercial loans.
